A bonus with this recipe is how quickly it comes together. It is SO easy to make!
Items needed:
- Large mixing bowl(I have a massive stainless steel bowl that works perfectly for this)
Ingredients:
- Golden Grahams cereal(off-brand also works here)
- Rice Chex cereal(or off brand)
- Corn Chex cereal(or off brand)
- Sweetened shredded coconut
- Slivered almonds
- Sugar
- Honey
- Butter
Steps:
1. Place the cereal, almonds, and coconut in a very large mixing bowl, mixing it all really well.
2. In a saucepan, add butter, honey, and sugar, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, set a timer for 2 minutes. Allow the syrup to boil the 2 minutes, then remove from heat and pour over cereal mixture. You want the syrup to be at a rolling boil.(See image)
3. Immediately, and very carefully, pour the syrup over the cereal mix, being sure to coat the cereal well.
*CAUTION – The syrup is VERY hot. Avoid touching it as much as possible!
Enjoy!
Note: To keep this from drying out, store it in a few gallon-sized freezer bags.
